New England Patriots vs New York Jets (o/u 41.5 points; Pats – 9.5 point favorite)

QBs:

Cam Newton* – Newton started the season on fire but has since cooled off. He was the QB #6 and #2 on the week in the first couple weeks but since then he has been in the QB1 range only once and has never thrown for more than 175 yards. This week he gets a favorable matchup in New York where Patriots are heavy favorites. If they get up early, look for him to get the RBs as well as himself involved in the run game to eat up the clock. He should be a safe play for tonight.

Joe Flacco – Seems like Flacco would be starting again this week with Darnold sidelined. In the two games that he has started, he has yet to surpass 200 yards and finish below QB#20 on the week. He is a slightly riskier play but could pan out really well if Jets are down big and if he has to throw the ball to get them back in the game. He also gets all his WRs healthy and back in Crowder, Perriman and Mims.

RBs:

Damien Harris* (Questionable) – Since their bye week, Harris has slowly increased his rushing share percentage in this offense. He is banged up and listed as Questionable for this game but if he plays, he should be locked and loaded as the best RB in this game. He is also coming off a great week against Buffalo where he had over 100 yards and 1 TD to finish as the RB#9 on the week. With Patriots being a heavy favorite, he could be in line for a much bigger role this week.

WRs:

Jamison Crowder* (Questionable) – This might be a surprise, but Crowder leads the entire NFL in targets per game. In the 4 games that he has played, he averages 11.5 targets, 7.3 receptions and just under 100 yards per game. He has missed the last couple games and is listed as questionable but if he plays, he should be a locked and loaded WR.

Jakobi Meyers – In the last couple weeks, Meyers has really emerged as the Patriots #1 WR. He has led the team in both weeks with 6 and 10 targets. Lat week against Buffalo, he had 10 targets, 6 receptions for 58 yards.  Meyers has yet to score a TD on the year but on the other hand. Jets have been a favorable match-up for WRs. They just gave up more than 57 FP last week to the Hill/Hardman/Robinson WR combo. He could be in line for a big week tonight.

Damiere Byrd – Byrd has solidified his place in the Patriots WR sets and last week he played 100% of the snaps. He is out on the field and Newton is also trusting him and throwing the ball to him frequently. Both him and the Meyers could be in line for a huge game this week.

Braxton Berrios – Berrios saw a team high 11 targets and 8 receptions last week against Kansas City. He probably will not sustain this number if Crowder is back this week but if not, he should definitely be considered just based on that volume. As mentioned, being heavy underdogs, they will be forced to the throw the ball and Berrios could be in line for another 8-10 reception kind of a week.

Defense

Patriots – This one is a fairly easy pick. Patriots have a great defense and New York has given up the most points to opposing Defensive position. This is also a very low scoring game with Patriots being the heavy favorites to win.
