Fitzmagic vs. Minshew Mania. The Beard vs. The Stache. The battle for the worst team in Florida. The Jaguars and Dolphins have exceeded expectations this season thus far, while there records may not show it. The Jags were a sure fire tank show after liquidating every decent player they had. So far this season they’ve definitely played better than expected and all the props for that go to Gardner Minshew. While most Jags fans were looking forward to “Tanking for Trevor”, the man with the mustache had something else in mind. After beating the Colts behind the late heroics of Minshew and then losing a close game to very good Titans team, who knows what to expect. The dolphins on the other hand, while sitting at 0-2, played a decent game vs. the Patriots and a very close game against the favorite to win the division the Buffalo Bills. Nonetheless, the question still remains, when will it be Tua Time?

Betting Favorite

Under 48

While both defenses have been suspect thus far, and both Thursday night games have gone way over, its time. Thursday night unders are back. I really don’t see these two offenses putting up the points this line is calling for, with both teams not having any real weapons. I expect this to be a slow paced typical Thursday night 17-10 type game, with both offenses struggling to get going after a shortened weak and tough losses on Sunday. In fact these two teams haven’t put up over 48 playing each other since 2000, when the Jags put up 62 in the divisional round.

Top Plays

James Robinson (DK $7,800/ FD $14,000)

Robinson has put on a fantastic campaign thus far in the 2020 season, taking over for Fournette, making Jags fans forget he ever even existed. Robinson is easily my DFS and fantasy favorite for this Thursday night game after racking up his first career 100 yard game last week. For cash games Robinson belongs as Captain/MVP.

Mike Gesicki (DK $7,400/ DK 10,500)

With DaVante Parker’s status in question, Miami’s next man up has to be Gesicki, getting 11 targets against Buffalo and putting up a cool 130. Jacksonville gave up a big day to Titans tight end Jonnu Smith last week and I expect Gesicki to have an even bigger game Thursday. Gesicki is a must play tonight and I would say he’s also a pretty safe Captain/MVP pick.

Isaiah Ford (DK $3,000/ FD $7,000)

Ford stepped up huge last week for Miami, and with Parker having that nagging hamstring injury I would say he’s a nice sleeper again. The Jags are very week on defense, and Ford should be a nice low cost option that is sure to get some looks. Ford is my favorite Captain/MVP for GPP games, giving you a chance to win some real bread if he performs.

Gardner Minshew (DK $11,000/ FD $16,000)

While Minshew has had a strong season thus far, and he’s playing a fairly weak defense, I think he struggles to get going only 4 days after a tough fought battle Sunday. Robinson will continue to get the rock after proving himself last week. That being said it’s hard to stray away from Minshew with Fitz not being any better of pick.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (DK $10,200/ FD $15,000)

When it comes to Fitzpatrick you never really know to expect. 5 Touchdowns or 5 Interceptions? I do believe that Fitzpatrick has better value than Minshew, not only because he is the cheaper option, but I see the Dolphins throwing the ball more than the Jags. Fitz might be worth the risk.

Keelan Cole (DK $5,400/ FD $11,000)

Keelan Cole has been the best performing Jags receiver this season, putting up a TD in each game thus far. I could see him going 3/3 tonight and would definitely say he has more value than #1 receiver DJ Chark Jr.

Jags Defense (DK $6,400)

We know Fitzpatrick is known for throwing interceptions, he’s thrown 3 already this season, and that was all in 1 game. Nobody will ever know why Fitz can never seem to play consistently, but this makes the Jags D a very viable play.  While they have given up a lot of points thus far in the season, they did pick off Phillip Rivers twice, and I don’t think Miami has enough offense to make them pay.

Something to Keep an Eye On:

Tua is currently sitting at just $200 under Ryan Fitzpatrick on DK. While still $10,000 less than Fitz on FD. Do they know something we don’t? Just a thought. It could be Tua time.
